The Parable of the Tree is a beautiful metaphor that deals with what the vast majority of parents are able to do for their children. It is about a beloved and awake child in a far off place. Near his house, there was an apple tree that he adored.
The little one was impatient to be near the tree. He played with its branches, ran around and tasted its apples. The tree was very happy thanks to this child who treated him with so much affection and always wanted to be close to him.
Time has passed and the child has grown. The parable of the tree tells that the boy entered school and invited his new friends to play around the apple tree. He loved the laughter and the races of the children around him. The tree was very happy at that time.
An unexpected absence
The years continued to pass and the child grew a lot. The tree and the child saw each other less and less. The boy seemed very busy with his new friends and new interests. The apple tree felt sad, but he understood that it was natural.
One day the boy came back. He was already a young man. The tree was very happy to see it. They hadn’t been together for so long! However, he noticed that the boy looked sad. Then he asked her what was happening to her. Didn’t he appreciate his wonderful youth?
The boy told him that he felt very, very sad. There were so many things he wanted to have, but he didn’t have enough money and had to settle for little. He wanted a bike, new clothes and money to invite my friends …
The apple tree then said the following to him: “Look!” he said. “I am full of apples! Why not take them all and sell them in the market? This way you will have money for what you need. ” The boy thought it was a good idea and he did it. Then he didn’t come back for a long time.
A new return
Several years passed, and the boy never returned. The apple tree was missing, but he also understood that the boy couldn’t spend his life running next to an old tree. So he felt happy at the thought that his child was happy too.
One afternoon he saw the boy coming towards him. He felt extremely happy. He had grown a lot. But again, he was sad. So the tree asked him what was happening to him. The young man said he wanted to get married, but didn’t have the money to build a house. He should therefore postpone his plans.
The tree, still affectionately, said to him: “Don’t worry. Take my branches. With them you can build a beautiful house. ” The young man’s face lit up. He did it. He took the branches and built a wonderful house. Then he got married and for a long time he did not go to see the apple tree.
The moral of the parable of the tree
Many years later the boy returned. In fact, he was already a man. He told the tree that he had two children and that he wanted to make a boat to sail with them. The apple tree did not hesitate for a second: “Take my trunk!” he said. “With him you can build a beautiful boat.” The man listened to him.
He disappeared again, this time for several years. The tree feared the worst. However, when he least expected it, he saw an old man approach him. It was his child. The one he had seen grow up and who was now old.
Again, he looked sad. The tree then said to itself that it had nothing more to offer. It had no branches, no trunk… It was just a root stuck to the ground…
The old man approached the tree and gave it a hug. Then he cried. “I’m alone,” he said to the apple tree in tears. “You are not,” the tree told him. “Here I am,” he added. “I only have a few old roots, but they are still big and strong. Here you can stay to rest ”. And the old man slept forever at the foot of the tree.
